This blog will not be educational, nor supported by reasearch studies, or filled with quotes from leaders of the world. This is simply a blog about the life and observations of a somewhat average 26 year-old chick. So hopefully that will discourage any of you who think you might read something profound here, not likely....but who knows, crazier things have happened.
I like to make people laugh, and I think my life provides some funny moments and personal observations that might be amusing, or possibly mundane and annoying. Well then stop reading it if it is the latter. What the hell do I care?
I should probabably brief you on some things about me first so you can get a feel for the life I live. I am engaged to great man and we are getting married in October of this year. He is a widower, which brings a whole plate of issues to the table, but I feel I have a good grip on the situation. With the help of friends, occasional therapy, and a good sense of humor, we'll work through all the issues life faces us. I currently live with my fiancee and soon to be step-son in the land of suburbia. These two men have brought much love and laughter that was greatly needed to my life.
The transition to suburban living has been a tough one for me. I liked being a "city-girl." It was so much easier to feel hip and trendy. All the coolest bars, restaraunts, and shops were at my disposal. Now it seems like such an effort to not be sentenced to Chili's or Bed, Bath, and Beyond. A petty thing to complain about, but that won't stop me from yapping about it. I am sure I'll comment more on suburban living and trying to be a fun and cool step-mom to an active 5 year-old. I've lost some friends along this path I have chosen for myself. What girl in her mid-twenties would ask to live in a cul-de-sac, contemplate getting her hair cut at Cost-Cutters, wipe the bottom of a five year-old, and marry someone who supposedly thught he had already married the love of his life? Not many takers on this life, but I chose it and I love it, and that is all that matters.....
